Learning With Playdough

Play dough is often seen as a messy activity that is not worth the time and effort that it takes to clean up after. But if set up properly and supervised carefully play dough can be fun and provide opportunity for a lot of learning. . . read more

Learning Centers and Activity Stations

I've been thinking about our daily sechedule and activities and thinking that I wanted to add some activity stations/learning centers. So yesterday I did some cleaning, organizing and rearranging. And I asked Doug to repair a table for me. And then I asked him to get some supplies from the store for me. And now we have space for six stations and I have plans for two or three more. (Thank you, Doug.)

Yesterday we used these stations for wooden mosaics, coloring, fuse beads, play dough, puzzles and drawing. On other days I can put other supplies and activities in these places depending on the ages and interests of the children here that day.

I think this is going to be fun.

Notes from Saturday January 23, 2010

Play dough was the favorite activity of the day.

Katie made all kinds of good food to eat.

Fuse beads were fun as well.

When we took the old couch out of the playroom I saved the cushions for the children to play on and they have provided hours and hours of fun.

With all the other fun we had today we only managed to read one book today.

Product Recall: Graco Strollers

There has been a product recall on some models of Graco strollers due to risks of finger amputations when opening or closing the canopy.

The article I read on this can be found here and the list of model numbers recalled can be found here.
